Somethings are not just meant for the rich but they do have the tendency to make you rich !
It's your life choices which can take you from nowhere to somewhere , if taken seriously ; but at the same time, also they do have strong proclivities to throw you back from there to nowhere if taken for granted .
Very often these choices are shadowed by ignorances : you do choose to be a full 9 to 5 employee without knowing what being continuously working under a boss will be like . The matter of fact here is that you are vigorously studying your ass off to get some fucking independence in your life by choosing to be a person of unquestioning obedience !
Man this is our life ! This is the life we choose for us ! And guess what ? You cannot even realize where the shitty problem lies !
The problem lies in the process while taking these decisions .
Do you even know how do we make these choices ?
One of the substantial paradoxes of our life is that biggest of our decisions are often least calculated and ironical to this , we do humongous calculations while making decisions which scarcely counts for any proportion in our major life.
We agonize over what to stream on YouTube , Hotstar ; even buying a small lipstick may engross days of Internet research ; then we may let Bollywood persuade us to move to Bombay - the film city , without us knowing that what a modelling or acting be like .
But those life changing break-ups just need few shots of vodka to deliberate and we are set . We are barely more advanced than those ancients making their decisions by thinking twice , once while drunk , another while sober .
The craft of making farsighted selections - decisions that needs longer stretch of contemplation and decisions whose outcomes might last for years is strangely under- appreciated skill . Because choices are somewhat constrained by earlier choices , then facts also go undiscovered , neglected or may be misunderstood . Very often we are compromised by groupthink and their own frailed mindsets.
You know, the most complex decisions foster the conflicting objectives and undiscovered alternatives ; requiring us to predict all the future possibilities that can be gripped , at various levels of uncertainty . We just cannot manage to understand them on a single scale . We have to have a multidimensional matrix view for a decision to emerge out from there .
We should always scrutinize in advance which option would be most appealing not just today , later this year and years from now ?
Which option would be more emotionally , financially and morally friendly to you , your family and your society ?
This way you can have a decision map drawn in your head , which help you do the scenario - plannings . Firstly you will be building models for three major possible futures - one where things get better ; one where they get worse and last where they get weird . I know it's turning into an iterative adventure , but believe me , discovering the possibilities which are otherwise not forseen is something miraculous which ameliorate the poverty of our imaginations .
In simple terms we can say that art of authentic decision making is none other than - A Value - Maximizing Equation . Coz faced with choices - we first tend to ask ourselves what we value then seek to maximize that value .
We can understand this with a very simple example : if we are going out and can't decide whether to take an umbrella or not ; we could easily come to a conclusion by following the formula that assigns weights to the probability of rain , the pleasure we gonna feel in sauntering unburdened and also the displeasure if get wet .
Most of the decisions are knottier than the above one . But you could be promised a formula for anything and everything .
So just plug in the values and the correct option will pop out !
It may seems very typical and sheer waste of time to those who are unable to reconfigure themselves to jot down a new equation by which they're presently living their hellish life .
But trust me this gonna create a difference .
Hope you found it useful and interesting as well .
See you there in the next one :-)
